Big Bird Playhouse Activities that encourage creativity among preschoolers


Preschoolers partake in several types of activities in preschools. Some of these activities encourage their physical growth, while other activities boost a child’s social and mental development. Creativity is another ability that should be encourage among children.
Preschools like Big Bird’s Playhouse include different activities in theirprograms, in order to encourage creativity among students. Big Bird’s Playhouse is an esteemed preschool in Staten Island, New York. It has been serving parents since 1991 with programs like; universal pre-k, day care, before & after school programs, summer, and traveling camps.
The following are some of the activities that help kids to improve their imagination and creativity –
Playing with blocks – Playing with blocks encourages children to use their imagination, in order to build new and different shapes. This activity also boosts their critical thinking, as they have to learn how to fix or put together different pieces, as they build a structure.
Drama classes – During drama classes, kids use their imagination and creativity to work with different characters. They use different props for scenarios and show their inventiveness with it. Drama classes also give children the opportunity to express their thoughts via stories or poems.
Arts and drawing lessons – In arts, crafts and drawing lessons, kids learn new ways to express their thoughts. They pour out their thoughts in pictures and paintings by effectively showing their imaginations.
Music – Listening to music and participating in musical activities also boost a child’s imagination. Different types of music encourage them to express their emotions.
